The next two days was our vacation within our vacation. Our Bus Driver safely deposited our group in Levanto at the Train Station and we took a short ride to Monterosso which sits on the Ligurian Sea (part of the Mediterranean). What a beautiful spot to rest and recharge for the remainder of our tour. Our evening group dinner was Anfora Belvedere, a clay pot filled with octopus, lobster, mussels, clams, shrimp scallops and squid. The setting was a lovely restaurant on the edge of the ocean. Such a lovely evening and a new experience in Italian food. Following dinner, the moon shone brightly as we strolled along the shore to our hotel.
Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre is a string of centuries old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline.
Each of the 5 villages have colorful houses, vineyards clinging to steep terraces and harbors filled with fishing boats.

The next day some of our group decided to hike the trails between villages, some relaxed by the ocean in beach chairs and some of us decided to take the boat between villages to get a feel of each.
We wandered through the streets, inhaled the smells, watched the people go about their daily chores and sampled some special treats. It was a warm day and so pleasant to feel our feet in the water along the way.
