One of the reasons we chose this early Spring trip was our desire to see the Tulips of Holland. Even though it was early May, the Tulips in the fields had already been harvested, but Keukenhof Gardens did not disappoint. We spent several hours wandering the paths and enjoying the wonder of this beautiful place. Soon it was time for our bus to get on the road again. Bedankt ( Thanks) Netherlands!
Our road leads to Bacharach, Germany
Arriving in this little German village along the Rhine River we could see there would be little hustle and bustle in this sleepy little town. The vineyards rising up the steep hills behind the town, the ruins of the Werner Chapel and the wall around the city made this a beautiful arrival. We enjoyed some free time to explore this sleepy little town, to see the children going home from school, to share a glass of Riesling, for which this area is famous. They like to say a certain Pope liked their Riesling so much he had crates and crates sent to him.
Another perfect local dinner with our tour members. We spent time tonight playing the name game, we were already getting close to knowing everyone’s name.
