With our Bus Driver Matt in the Drivers seat, we left Austria and headed over the Alps to Italy. This would be a long day in the bus but we always enjoyed Lisa’s Trivia and other games. We stopped for lunch in a small Italian village in the Dolomites. This would be our first pasta and gelato in Italy in an outside cafe. As we arrived we had another tour bus parked beside us. The driver told us half of his passengers were no longer on the tour due to Covid. Another reason to thank Lisa for insisting on masks on the bus and at inside venues. We also appreciated having an outdoor cafe for lunch. It was a Sunday and everyone was eating, drinking, and enjoying each others company. We really felt immersed in the local culture, Children playing in the streets, music and laughter .
Venice our evening destination
We took water taxis into Venice which added to the excitement of this day. Winding our way through the streets pulling our suitcases from the dock we found our Hotel, checked in and gathered for a walking tour and then a group dinner once again in an outside cafe. It was hard to pay attention when there were so many wonderful sights around us. St Marks Square, oh My! A wonderful ending to our day, Lisa arranged a Gondola ride for those of us to wished to go. It was perfect!
